 Mr.
Gwynn joined Beltway Title and Abstract, Inc. as Affiliated
Business Arrangement (AfBA) Counsel in 1996 and was promoted to Assistant
General Counsel Jan. 1, 2006. Prior to that he was a partner in the
law firm of Reichelt, Nussbaum & Brown, engaged in the general
practice of law with an emphasis on the field of title insurance and
real estate transactions. He has nearly 40 years experience in the
title industry.
Summers received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mt. St. Mary’s
College; a Juris Doctor Degree from The Columbus School of Law at
the Catholic University of America; and he was admitted to practice
before the Court of Appeals of Maryland in 1974.
Summers has an extensive background in all types of real estate
transactions, including over five thousand real estate settlements
in all counties of the State of Maryland, the District of Columbia
and other jurisdictions throughout the United States; settlements
of both privately funded and FHA insured hospital projects; the purchase
and/or construction of apartment projects and shopping centers; representation
of builders, developers, credit unions, banks and mortgage bankers;
and mechanic’s lien litigation. He is a qualified real estate
title expert in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County,
Maryland and United States Federal District Court.
